Anthropology explores all aspects of human diversity - both biological and cultural, past and present. The Anthropology Program offers courses in all 4 fields of anthropology: cultural anthropology, archaeology, biological anthropology and linguistics. We offer minors in Medical Anthropology and Museum Studies in collaboration with Art History.
The Art History B.A.. program provides students with a multicultural and global awareness of art and culture, as well as the useful daily skill of visual literacy–not just of artwork, but also of advertising, architectural structures, and popular culture. Course offerings cover a wide range of subjects within global contexts, encouraging students to become responsible citizens through an understanding of the aesthetic, cultural, and ethical issues present in our complex contemporary world.

Counseling & Psychological Services provides professional, ethical, and confidential therapy to students. Students can arrange individual appointments with a professional licensed counselor or intern. Counselors have experience assisting students with a wide range of psychological and interpersonal concerns.

Epsilon Sigma Rho Multicultural Fraternity Inc. is the first Multicultural based fraternity in the the United States. We are a social/service fraternity that is accepting all interested men regardless of race, color, or creed and as we’re currently expanding to establish here at Stanislaus State. Our pillars being Education, Strength, and Respect which holds our members to high values throughout college and life. As well as having our mentorship program to help our members achieve their career position, we can connect you with members in that field to have hands on experiences in the real world.
The Department of English offers students an array of degree programs, exciting courses, and opportunities for faculty/student interaction. Guided by the conviction that language and literature shape lives and cultures, department faculty offer both traditional and contemporary courses. Established in 1987, The Faculty Mentor Program is a faculty-administered program that promotes faculty-student interaction through a mentoring relationship. Participants enjoy one-on-one interactions with faculty members outside of the classroom setting. Proteges receive personal support, increased self-esteem, educational and career advice, and life long friendships. The Faculty Mentor Program is open to fully enrolled CSU Stanislaus students. The program targets first-generation college attendees as well as economically, or educationally disadvantaged students. Since FMP's inception in spring 1987, over 1,700 proteges and 150 mentors have participated in the program. We are pleased to share that our proteges have a higher graduation rate compared to other student populations.
The Financial Aid & Scholarship office administers Federal, State and Institutional aid to help our students meet their educational expenses.
Gaming Club strives to provide a space for members to share interests, play games, and interact with one another. We also host many events for those more competitive, such as various tournaments and seasonal events. Gaming Club is a great way for people to meet new people, possibly forming new relationships along the way.
The Geography & Environmental Resources, B.S. is one of the few degrees that comfortably bridges Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences. Geography & Environmental Resources is the ideal major for students interested in solving real-world environmental and social problems. The program provides students with the skills and academic framework needed to help create a more sustainable and just future. Students who complete the program are well prepared to advance to graduate school or to enter the work world where they are increasingly likely to find rewarding jobs. Geography & Environmental Resources graduates work in a variety of fields including urban and regional planning, GIS analysis, water resources, environmental education, environmental analysis, climatology, transportation, resource management, marketing, natural hazards, tourism, international business, government agencies, and non-governmental organizations. The demand for geographical information science skills is increasing in all areas of the economy. According to the US Dept. of Labor, geospatial technologies are one of the top three areas of job growth in the next decade.
A History degree can take you into teaching, law, business, journalism, politics, museum administration, TV and film documentary, civil service, the military, and many other fields. History graduates have also landed jobs in secondary schools and junior colleges across the state, as well as many historical organizations.

Students in the Department of Modern Languages may obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish; additionally, students have the opportunity for a Portuguese minor and introductory studies in Italian and German. A Liberal Studies concentration in Spanish is also available. Majors and/or minors in Modern Languages are designed to assist students as they plan for their careers. Some students anticipate a teaching career at the elementary or secondary level, while others are training to meet the challenges of advanced studies in language and literature. A growing number will discover that foreign language ability and sensitivity to other cultures are important assets, especially in career choices such as social sciences, the foreign service, international finance and banking, and international business.

Welcome to Physics! We are a small department which is strongly oriented towards student success. This is facilitated by a high faculty to student ratio. During the past 5 years, our department has transformed to a highly research-oriented physics institution with all of our majors engaged in undergraduate research at Stan State and in collaboration with other research institutions. We offer a B.S. and B.A. in Physics, a B.A. in Physical Sciences, and a minor in Physics. We are also starting a new minor in Astronomy in Fall 2025.

The Student Health Center is a fully accredited outpatient clinic that provides primary medical care, health education, wellness promotion, and disease prevention. Our facility is housed in the Health Center Building and is equipped with nine up-to-date examination rooms, a pharmacy, a clinical laboratory, a minor surgery room, and an infirmary (short stay) room. The Student Health Center is funded solely by Stanislaus State students through a mandatory student health fee.

The Warrior Fab Lab is located on the second floor of the J. Burton Vasche Library. It is a welcoming place for innovation through a variety of active learning experiences. Our digital fabrication lab is equipped with the latest tools, machines, and software and technology available to the entire Stan State community. We are open to all Stan State students, staff, and faculty members to create, learn, mentor, and invent. The Fab Lab has trained staff to help bring your ideas to life and is designed for a hands-on approach to cross-disciplinary studies and community building through a combination of analog and digital processes whether for personal enrichment, research, teaching, and collaborations.
