California State University, Stanislaus provides professional training and artistic development in music. The Department of Music offers the Bachelor of Music (B.M.) in choral and instrumental music education, performance, composition, and jazz studies, and the Bachelor of Arts in Music (B.A) in general music and music technology, as well as a Liberal Studies Concentration in Music. The diverse curriculum also accommodates students who are pursuing other fields of study and choose music as an elective.
The faculty are highly accomplished professional performers, conductors, composers, and educators who are active regionally, nationally, and internationally. They work closely with students to provide the broadest range of support to ensure academic and artistic success.
Entrance and scholarship auditions are held several times throughout the year for entering freshmen and transfer students. An entrance audition is required of all entering music students.
Entrance and scholarship audition dates for the 2015-2016 academic year will be held in room M39 on the following dates:
- Friday January 23, 2015 from 3:00pm-6:00pm.
- Saturday January 24, 2015 from 9:00am-12:00pm.
- Saturday March 21, 2015 from 1:00pm-4:00pm.

Scholarships are available for talented students by audition every year. The University also offers a variety of financial aid opportunities for qualified students, including generous awards such as the Presidential and Provost Scholarships.
Music scholarships for entering students are determined by the entrance audition process and are renewable for a total of four years for entering freshman. Transfer students are usually granted two- or three-year renewable scholarships.
