1. The committee compares the course syllabus and the catalog description with EO 1100 Revised GE Area description.  Do they agree?
    If no, the committee contacts department and requests revisions.

  2. The committee reviews selected GE outcomes. Is one of them an anchor outcome for the GE Area? Are there a total of 2-4 outcomes? 
    If no, the committee contacts department and requests revisions.

  3. The committee reviews if the GE outcomes selected for the course are clearly present in the syllabus?
    If no, the committee contacts department and requests revisions.
  4. Finally, the committee reviews if activities/assignments described address the identified GE outcomes? Does the course more broadly address identified GE program goals? The committee also reviews the overall proposal, looking for other issues, including if the catalog description is readable by a student taking GE courses.
    If no, the committee contacts department and requests revisions.
  5. Course recommended for final approval by the GE Subcommittee.
