After each Commencement ceremony, all graduates and their guests are invited to join Alumni Relations and the University Student Center in the quad for light refreshments, music, photo opportunities and more! Celebrate your achievement with family, friends, and loved ones in a joyful, relaxed setting.

Commencement Program

Graduate Information

 

  • Commencement Registration on WarriorLife: 8 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26. — 5 p.m. Friday, March 28.  

  • Graduate registration includes five guest wristbands and a graduate wristband. 

  • Wristbands and Honor Cord Pickup: Wednesday, March 12. — Friday, May 16. 


Eligibility 

The Class of 2025 Commencement ceremonies will recognize students graduating in the fall 2024, spring 2025 and summer 2025 terms. To participate, students must be from an eligible term, must have applied for graduation by the deadline (March 14), and be registered to participate in their assigned ceremony.

Graduates eligible for an academic honor cord will receive an email in mid-March with instructions on pick up. Graduates are eligible when both their cumulative grade point average (GPA) and Stanislaus State GPA meet the following:

Cum Laude, 3.40-3.59

  • Graduating with Honor; Awarded gold and red cords.

Magna Cum Laude, 3.60-3.79

  • Graduating with Great Honor; Awarded gold and silver cords.

Summa Cum Laude, 3.80 and +

  • Graduating with the Highest Honor; Awarded gold cords.

Regalia is available for purchase at the University Bookstore! 

Wearing Your Regalia

Wear your cap and gown and place your stole(s) and honor cord(s) over. 

Fixing your tassel: 

  • Bachelors - Right Side
  • Masters and Doctoral - Left Side

Graduate Students - Unbutton the hood and carry it over your left arm.

Credential Students - Carry the credential cord over your left arm.

Wristband and honor cord distribution takes place Wednesday, March 12 through Friday, May 16. Commencement registration was required. All graduates and guests attending Commencement must wear a wristband for entry to the Amphitheater.

Stockton Campus Pick-Up 

  • March 12 - May 16 | Monday - Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Location: Warrior Welcome Hub

This in-person session will provide a general overview of what to expect at Commencement, includes a walkthrough of the Amphitheater, seating and explanation of the student procession line up.

To maximize enjoyment of the ceremonies, the following is prohibited:

  • Amplified sound devices

  • Large items that block the view of others

  • Flags and banners

  • Alcohol, drugs, tobacco, weapons, large ice chests, pets, Frisbees, beach balls and umbrellas

* The University reserves the right to confiscate and remove any item(s) it considers to be disruptive from the ceremonies.

  • All ceremonies will be livestreamed on campus and made available for livestream at the convenience of your home via YouTube.  

  • ASL interpreting will be available on the Commencement main stage and the YouTube livestream. 

  • Captioning will be available on the YouTube livestream and via Captioned Text

  • ADA seating will be available -- ADA seating in the Amphitheater will require a wristband and will be available on a first-come first-served basis. 

  • Shuttle service will be available for guests who require mobility from designated parking areas to the amphitheater entrance.
