Stanislaus State continues to be recognized nationally not only for the quality of the education it offers, but also for its overall value. The latest such recognition comes from Forbes, which last week included Stan State in its list of America’s Best Value Colleges.
Maggie White, 21, a graduate student at Stanislaus State, serves as the only voting student trustee on the California State University’s Board of Trustees. One of two student trustees in the nearly 500,000 student CSU system, White, who was appointed by Gov. Jerry Brown in 2015, takes her position as the “student’s voice” seriously.
"I want to be a trustee for all students," she said.
J. Tomas Gomez-Arias, currently chief diversity officer, professor of marketing and global business, chair of the Department of Marketing and director of the M.S. in Business Analytics at St. Mary’s College in Moraga, is the new dean of Stanislaus State’s College of Business Administration.
Gomez-Arias, who begins at Stan State on July 1, holds a Ph.D. and a licenciatura in business science from the University of Leon, Spain and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
