Special Circumstances Requests

Financial Aid Administrators have the authority to take into consideration unique family circumstances not reflected on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  An aid administrator may use Professional Judgment (PJ) on a case-by-case basis to adjust the following:

Pell Program Limit

The maximum Pell Grant an eligible student may receive is for the equivalent of 12 full-time semesters or six years (600% of their Pell Grant eligibility). Visit the NSLDS website to determine the percentage of Pell Grant you have received.

State University Grant (SUG)

The following changes are effective as of Fall 2013:

Stanislaus State is required by law to make available to enrolled students, prospective students, and their parents certain information about its operations. Such information pertains to: (1) general institutional operation, (2) financial aid, (3) general completion and graduation rates, (4) annual security report, (5) completion and graduation rates for student athletes, and (6) athletic program participation rates and financial support.

Summer Financial Aid is Available!

If you filed a FAFSA or CADAA for 2024-2025 and you are enrolled (not waitlisted) in Summer 2025 courses, you will be automatically reviewed for Summer Financial Aid eligibility. Limited financial aid is available for the summer term to students who qualify. Summer financial aid may consist of Federal Pell Grant, Federal Student Loans, and State University Grant. Summer schedule changes can affect your summer financial aid.

Payment Of Your Award

Based on your Financial Aid Award summary you will find a disbursement schedule for the academic year according to the academic periods upon which your award is based on Fall Semester and/or Spring Semester. The actual payment dates will vary according to when you are awarded, when you complete your registration for each term, which programs provide your funding, and when changes, if any, are made to your award during the course of the year.

Terms & Conditions of your Financial Aid Award

  • Full-time awards for undergraduate, credential, 2nd BA, and Post Baccalaureate Unclassified (PBU) students is based on enrollment in 12 or more units each semester with a minimum total of 24 units for the academic
