If Alliyah Johnson could give future Stanislaus State students advice, she would tell them to tap into campus resources,

Stanislaus State has been ranked No. 57 in the nation on the College Consensus “Best Value Colleges & Universities for 2022” top 100 list. 

If the term “fab lab” sounds like a fabulous space where Warriors can innovate, problem-solve and freely use digital resources to turn ideas into something tangible, all while getting a better grasp on the concepts they are learning in classrooms, your thinking is on the right track. 

The term is short for digital fabrication laboratory, and there is one being established on the second floor of the Vasché Library with an opening date planned for fall 2022.  

Vivian Aguilar is ready to graduate in May with a degree in psychology and had plans to work toward an advanced degree to prepare for a career in the medical field, focusing on behavioral changes to prevent and treat disease and addiction. 

That may still happen, but Aguilar is pondering other psychology options after working this semester with Julia Sankey, professor of geology and paleobiology, and more recently, a class called "Climate Crisis and Solutions," on a Research, Scholarship and Creative Activities (RSCA) grant. 

Policy and Procedures for the Operation of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UASs)/Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)/Drones

All faculty, staff, administrators, students, or outside vendors who wish to operate a UAS/UAV/Drone on campus or in the course of research, teaching or other University-related endeavors must work with the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) and the UAS Review Committee to ensure appropriate legal use.

Institutional Animal Care & Use Committee

The care and use of animals at the University are governed by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), also known as the Animal Welfare Committee (AWC). Anyone using animals for teaching, research, or experimentation in affiliation with the University must submit an Animal Subject Approval Form for IACUC review. Protocol approval from the IACUC must be obtained prior to beginning any teaching, research, or experimentation involving animals.

Collaborative Institutional Training (CITI) Program

Stanislaus State offers access to web-based training in multiple areas of research ethics and compliance training.  Students, faculty, and staff can receive training in a variety of courses, including:

  • Human Research Subjects Protection
  • Animal Care and Use
  • Responsible Conduct of Research
  • Research Security Training

Those involved in research are highly encouraged to complete the training. Signing up is easy and free.
