GVWP will be following campus regulations regarding summer programs during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Due to Covid-19 campus restrictions, GVWP will not hold our annual summer writing camp for youth. We thank parents and students for their interest and hope students will continue to read, write and publish their work throughout the summer. We suggest you visit the National Novel Writing Month website to register for NaNoWriMo camp.
The Great Valley Writing Project is funded through the California Writing Project, an entity of the California Subject Matter Projects, and the National Writing Project. The writing project focuses the knowledge, expertise, and leadership of educators on sustained efforts to improve writing and learning for all learners. GVWP provides Professional Development for schools and districts, Inquiry Groups, Family Literacy Programs, and Young Writers' Programs. The GVWP serves Calaveras, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Tuolumne counties.
Chartered in 1983 by California legislators, the Great Valley Writing Project is a founding member of both the California Writing Project and the National Writing Project. GVWP is one of the oldest and most active Writing Project sites in the country.
