The California State Student Association (CSSA) on Tuesday night named Dr. Hamid Shirvani, President of California State University, Stanislaus the 2006-2007 “President of the Year” at an annual awards event in Long Beach.
Two of the seven students representing California State University, Stanislaus earned runner-up honors at the 21st Annual California State University Student Research Competition.

Gina Grgich of Oakdale, who will receive her Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction in June, came in second in the Education category for her presentation titled "Gifted Students' Standardized Test Achievement Based on Classroom Placement and Overall School Academic Performance." Her faculty mentor was Dr. Armin Schulz of the Department of Teacher Education.
A research project on the endangered San Joaquin kit fox conducted by a group of California State University, Stanislaus scientists and collaborators at the Smithsonian Institution has been recognized with a prestigious award by the Southwestern Association of Naturalists.

California State University, Stanislaus has started its summer hours schedule that continues through August 24.

As of today (June 4), office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The University will resume its regular 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule on Monday, August 27. Fall semester classes start on Wednesday, September 5.
