More than 1,400 area third-graders visited CSU Stanislaus on Friday, May 20 to participate in AgEdventure Day hosted by the department of Agricultural Studies. Students participated in ag activities and learned about commodities produced in the Central Valley. They had the chance to climb into tractors, tour a sustainable garden, and get up close and personal with a variety of farm animals including goats, pigs, chickens, and dairy cows.

Students in the Peter DeCaro’s Communications class at California State University (CSU) Stanislaus recently worked with Stanislaus County Superior Court officials to prepare for the annual celebration of Law Day, which will take place on Saturday, May 7 at Vintage Faire Mall in Modesto. DeCaro’s class conducted research, identified target audiences, and created ads and flyers for Law Day. They created news releases and PSA’s for radio and print publications, in both English and Spanish.

Students will tour the sustainable garden on campus, plant seeds, learn about nutrition, and participate in a variety of agriculture-related activities. 
The California State University (CSU) Stanislaus Office of Mathematics Grants is preparing for the summer 2011 PreFreshman Enrichment Program (PREP) for junior high students.  The program teaches students to enjoy math and science and is open to students of all ability levels. The summer academy, designed for students entering 7th and 8th grades in Fall 2011, will be held as follows:

The California State University (CSU) Stanislaus Office of Mathematics Grants is gearing up for the summer 2011 Financial Awareness Means Equity (FAME) academy for high school girls. The summer academy, which is designed to teach students how to handle money, is open to girls who are graduating seniors or enrolled in 11th or 12th grade.
