Starting on October 15, 2022, all students, faculty, and staff will be using a new type of PeopleSoft navigation.
Why is this happening?
This is a mandatory systemwide update per the CSU Chancellor's Office. The core functionality of PeopleSoft is not changing, but the classic navigation framework will not be supported in the future, so to ensure that our student databases and systems can continue to function, we must make a change.
How does it work?
- Logging into PeopleSoft via the myStanState portal will now take you to your Homepage. Homepages contain tiles that link to pages within PeopleSoft, like your Student Center or Advisor Center.
- If you are a student or advisor/faculty, all you need to do is click the tile on your Homepage to get to your regular Student/Advisor/Faculty Homepage.

The left side of the screen contains a drop-down menu showing all the homepages that a user has access to.
Nav Bar
Accessing pages that are not on tiles can be done using the NavBar, which you can get to by clicking on the Compass icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
The NavBar always displays:
- Recently Visited
- Favorites
- Menu
The Favorites Icon will display the PeopleSoft pages that a user has added to their Favorites. This includes pages saved in the previous navigation system.
Menu Icon
The Menu Icon in the NavBar will display ALL menus and pages that the user has access to.
Adding to your Favorites Menu
The icon that looks like a vertical ellipsis will allow you to add a page to your Favorites Menu. You should navigate to the page you wish to add to your Favorites Menu before performing this action.
