The Doctoral (Ed.D.) Program in Educational Leadership at Stanislaus State prepares effective leaders for P-12 and Community College education. With specializations in P-12 Leadership and Community College Leadership, the program integrates pedagogy with administrative and instructional leadership to enhance public education in diverse settings. This three-year, cohort-based program builds on Stanislaus State's strong tradition in graduate and professional education. Admission is based on demonstrated academic and professional potential.

Upon completing the Ed.D. program, graduates will be able to:

Specializations within the Ed.D. Program
Each specialization in the Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership is tailored for working professionals, featuring a flexible schedule and a cohort structure that balances research, theory, and practical field experiences. Candidates receive support for academic writing and dissertation development, while the core curriculum prepares them for leadership roles in key areas such as theory and research methods, the structure of educational institutions, curriculum leadership, equity, and assessment. The program integrates CSU Core Educational Leadership Concepts and allows candidates to complete coursework and their dissertation within 36 months.
The PreK-12 Leadership specialization focuses on developing effective leaders for the K-12 education system. This track prepares candidates to address the unique challenges faced in primary and secondary education, emphasizing instructional leadership, curriculum development and community engagement.

This track emphasizes the unique mission and challenges of community colleges, including access, equity and workforce development.
