Halloween Spooktacular Book Drive

Phi Kappa Phi members and supporters donated more than 240 books to our Spooktacular Book Drive. Members Isaac Farhadian, Janice Herring, Teri Lunt, and Kim Tan sorted and placed PKP bookplates in all of the books in preparation for the Village's Halloween Gala. This annual event provided a captive audience of children, from infants to teens, to whom we could give the books. Janice Herring, Caroline Mercier, and Kayla Reeder (in costume) enjoyed distributing books at the event on Halloween evening, October 31, 2012. Approximately 250 books were given away. It was great to see the kids' faces light up as they found just the right book. Parents and grandparents were very appreciative. It was fun to collaborate with student housing, and foresee an annual partnership for this event.
