1. Submit an Application
Submit the online application during the application filing period.

Cal State Apply Application Checklist
Applicants are evaluated based on the information provided on the admission application. Complete and accurate information is essential. When you're ready to complete your application, be sure you have these items on hand:
Freshmen:
- Unofficial transcripts: You’ll be asked to enter all courses you’ve completed, those currently in progress, and any you plan to take
- Test scores (AP or IB if applicable)
- Your Social Security number, if you have one
- Your and your parent’s Citizenship Status, for tuition purposes
- Credit card: Application fees are due at time of submission if not eligible for a fee waiver
- Annual income: Your parents if you are a dependent, your income if you are independent
- Your parent’s employment background and two recommendations - applies only if you’re applying to EOP
Transfers:
- Unofficial transcripts: You’ll be asked to enter all courses you’ve completed, those currently in progress, and any you plan to take
- Your Social Security number, if you have one
- Your Citizenship Status, for tuition purposes
- Credit card: Application fees are due at time of submission
- Annual income: Your parents if you are a dependent, your income if you are independent
- CCCID and Campus ID: Required for ADT applicants from a California community college. These numbers should be printed on your transcript.
Please note your admissions can be denied for not accurately reporting your performance on the application or if you do not retain eligibility upon submitting final transcripts.
Students who are not registered on the Enrollment Census Date for the term admitted for, will not be considered a continuing-student and will be required to submit a new admission application for their intended term of attendance.
Second Baccalaureates
At this time, Stanislaus State does not accept applications from students seeking a second baccalaureate degree except for the following major: Accelerated Second Bachelor of Science in Nursing offered through University Extended Education. Due to the special admission requirement for the ASBSN program, students admitted to this program cannot change their degree objective or declare additional majors or minors. Go to the ASBSN program website for more information, including admission requirements and contact information.
2. Receive Login Instructions
A confirmation will be emailed to you two to three weeks after submission, along with instructions to create one password to access myStanState (your student center) and Stanislaus State email account. It is the student's responsibility to keep track of their admission application through the myStanState student portal and their university email. You can access your email on your myStanState portal through the Office365 icon under the “Student Email” section.
3. Submit Required Material
We make conditional offers of admission based on the information provided on the application. Please do not send transcripts, unless requested. If we are unable to make a decision, we will contact you via email. If additional information is requested, it will be indicated on your myStanState student portal with a due date.
Admission decisions will be recorded in myStanState student portal and a letter mailed.
Transfers:
Test scores or other external credit must be sent directly from the issuing agency (ie: College Board, CLEP, military credit, etc).
If accepted to the University, send official transcripts by the specified deadline to confirm your eligibility and have a transfer credit evaluation completed in time for New Student Orientation.
Residency
Although residency for tuition purposes is NOT a factor in admissions, we are required to make a determination. You may receive communication requesting additional information.
Requirement Substitution for Students with Disabilities
All applicants are encouraged to complete admission requirements. If you are unable to complete certain subjects because of a disability, you should submit a Request for Exception Review form.
4. Apply for Financial Aid & Scholarships
File your Free Application for Federal Student Aid or your California Dream Act– Changes are coming to the 2024-25 FAFSA/CADAA. The application filing date has not yet been announced. The exact date will be provided soon by the U.S. Department of Education. The California priority application deadline for 2024-2025 FAFSA is April 2, 2024. Visit your student portal and the Financial Aid & Scholarship Office for more information.
