All researchers must complete ethics training before collecting data for their research projects. Stanislaus State uses the CITI online program. The Psychology Department requires the Students-Class Projects and Responsible Conduct of Research modules. Please follow the instructions below for accessing the CITI training.

Information on the Psychology Department IRB

The Psychology Department’s Internal Review Board (PIRB) reviews applications from Psychology students and faculty to conduct research using human participants. PIRB Committee members review applications against strict ethical guidelines to ensure that research is compliant with federal, university, and departmental policies. Before submitting an application for review, all researchers must complete ethics training. Stanislaus State uses the CITI online program. The Psychology Department requires the Students-Class Projects-Basic and Responsible Conduct of Research modules for undergraduate students, and the Social & Behavioral Research-Basic and Responsible Conduct of Research modules for faculty and graduate students. Please follow the instructions below for accessing the CITI training. All applications should be submitted to the PIRB committee chair at psychologyIRB@csustan.edu. The committee reviews applications during the fall and spring semesters and does not operate during semester breaks. Please anticipate approximately two weeks for review.
