Human beings are prone to cognitive biases and heuristics. In many cases, our mental shortcuts and snap judgments can be extremely useful.
The WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) announced the appointment of Stanislaus State President Ellen Junn as one of the organization’s new commissioners.
The campus community is invited to attend the Fall 2021 Welcome Address. Join President Junn as she discusses upcoming plans and initiatives for the fall semester.
Please note: To adhere to health and safety guidelines, the reception has been cancelled and the event will be held in a virtual format only.
We are excited to announce that PenumbraOnline will be hosting a summer book club. We will be reading a book that spotlights PenumbraOnline’s summer theme of self-love. Check out Penumbraonline.org for more information on our upcoming edition. Join us as we spend the summer reading and rediscovering the love we have for ourselves. If you would like to read along with us, we will be discussing our first book, Fat Chance, Charlie Vega, by Crystal Maldonado via Zoom on July 10th and 24th at 6 P.M. (Pacific Standard Time).

Join Disability Resource Services for its virtual student orientation! Meet our staff and review important processes that DRS students will need to know for their accommodations. This will be a great time to ask any questions you may have before the start of the fall semester.
Penumbra will be hosting a zoom-based writing club that will run alternatingly on Sundays and Thursdays every other week. Sunday meetings will run from 2 pm to 3:30 pm, and Thursday meetings will run from 6 pm to 7:30 pm. The meetings will involve a combination of writing and collaborative workshopping each meeting.
