Finals week doesn't have to feel like survival mode. In this episode of the “Taking Care of U” podcast, host Naomi Carrera speaks with Ruthie Torres, a licensed marriage and family therapist with Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) at Stan State. Together, they explore how students can prepare for exams while protecting their mental and physical well-being.
Welcome to the AFSA at Stan State
The Assyrian Faculty and Staff Association (AFSA) was established in 2025 to create a space for connection, cultural celebration and shared advocacy among Assyrian professionals at Stanislaus State. As one of the University’s recognized affinity groups, AFSA serves as a home for faculty and staff who share an Assyrian heritage or are passionate about supporting the community.
The BFA gallery at Stan State Art Space is thrilled to announce the solo exhibition Sanctified and Sovereign by Bachelor of Fine Arts candidate Melissa Parga from May 29-June 27, 2025. The gallery is located at 226 N. First Street in downtown Turlock, and admission is free, with free on-street parking available. An opening reception will take place Thursday, June 12, from 6:00p.m.
Participating in studies on SONA
Research participation in the Department of Psychology and Child Development is managed through SONA, the department’s online participant pool.
Some instructors offer their students extra credit for participating in psychology and/or child development research. In order to participate in most studies, you will need to set up a SONA participant account (if you don’t already have one).
