Now in its 20th season of competition at the NCAA Division II level, the Cal State Stanislaus baseball program has reached the top for the first time.

The California State University, Stanislaus College of Education and the Department of Teacher Education, in conjunction with the Graduate School, is conducting information sessions, free to the public, on the Master’s degree program in Curriculum and Instruction.

The sessions, scheduled for Wednesday, March 11; Monday, April 6; and Friday, May 1; are designed to help Valley residents cash in on the opportunity for affordable higher education at a time when the nation is looking for long-term solutions to its economic difficulties.

California State University, Stanislaus will once again bring together a group of the area’s young students and teachers with 32 experts from the field of science this Monday, March 9. The "Dinner With A Scientist" program will focus on science careers and scientific topics. Activities start with tours of the University science facilities and scientific demonstrations, including chemistry magic shows, from 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. in the Naraghi Hall of Science. Scientists, students, and teachers will then join each other for dinner in the University Union Event Center.

Applications are currently being accepted for the Fall 2009 waiting list at the California State University, Stanislaus Child Development Center.

A power outage in the Science I Building on the California State University, Stanislaus campus in Turlock resulted in 18 classes being moved to other buildings on Thursday, February 26.

Repairs were made and the University restored power on Friday, February 27.

Monday, March 23 is the application deadline for summer admission to the California State University, Stanislaus Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership degree program that made its debut last fall.

Under the direction of Dr. Steven K. Lee, Founding Director, the program is designed for educators interested in earning a doctorate to advance their careers in education. An information session on the program is scheduled for Wednesday, March 11 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in Room 118 of Demergasso-Bava Hall.

Nurses with graduate degrees continue to be in high demand and California State University, Stanislaus will start its spring semester with a new master’s degree program to help meet that need. A $10,000 contribution from the Nelson family has provided a boost to help make it happen.
