Construction work on CSU Stanislaus’ Parking Lot 2, which will create 107 additional parking spots along with two electric charging stations, is expected to be completed Sept. 5.

The work — which began in early June, shortly after commencement — included the full demolition of the existing lot and a large storm drain line beneath it. The reconstructed lot will feature a realignment of parking stalls that creates the additional spaces.

The lot’s closure could cause some inconvenience for students, faculty and staff during the first two weeks of the fall semester, which begins Aug. 22. In order to minimize the impact, Facilities Services has restriped the temporary Lot 11A — near the southeast corner of campus, across from Lot 8 (see map) — to create more spaces for overflow parking.
