Dr. Jeffrey Frost always has taught his students about a skull found in North America that included the upper portion of a wolf’s jaw stuck inside the mouth of the skull.

These days, his Stanislaus State archaeology class is getting a different perspective. They get to hold a replica of that wolf’s jaw, thanks to the three-dimensional printer the anthropology department is using.

 

Stan State has secured a grant of $1,093,064 over four years from the U.S. Department of Education to expand access to the University’s Child Development Center (CDC).

Introducing students to agriculture beyond the strenuous work in the fields was the impetus for the $274,128 United States Department of Agriculture grant awarded earlier this month to the Stan State Agriculture Program.

The grant for “Recruiting and Preparing Underrepresented Hispanic Students for Careers in Agriculture through Experiential Learning Programs,” is the fourth USDA grant the agriculture department has received for this and similar purposes since 2015 and the second largest during that time.

 

Stanislaus State has entered into an agreement through the Maddy Institute to join with Fresno State, Cal State Bakersfield and the University of California, Merced in developing a greater understanding of public policy and to support the development of student skills in the area of public service.

The announcement came during a press conference held on Friday, Aug. 16 on the Fresno State campus.
