Maggie White, 21, a graduate student at Stanislaus State, serves as the only voting student trustee on the California State University’s Board of Trustees. One of two student trustees in the nearly 500,000 student CSU system, White, who was appointed by Gov. Jerry Brown in 2015, takes her position as the “student’s voice” seriously.

"I want to be a trustee for all students," she said.

 

After seven years of successful Shakespeare productions in the University’s outdoor amphitheater each spring, the Department of Theatre at Stanislaus State will be bringing a different production to life under the stars this year.

 

J. Tomas Gomez-Arias, currently chief diversity officer, professor of marketing and global business, chair of the Department of Marketing and director of the M.S. in Business Analytics at St. Mary’s College in Moraga, is the new dean of Stanislaus State’s College of Business Administration.

Gomez-Arias, who begins at Stan State on July 1, holds a Ph.D. and a licenciatura in business science from the University of Leon, Spain and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

 

David Evans, most recently a professor of geophysics and the interim director of international programs and global engagement at Sacramento State, has joined Stanislaus State as dean of the College of Science.

 

Kimberly Greer, provost and vice president for academic affairs, has announced the recipients of the Outstanding Professor Awards and the Elizabeth Anne B. Papageorge Faculty Development Award at Stanislaus State for the 2016-2017 academic year.

The California State University (CSU) Board of Trustees on Wednesday approved tuition increases for the fall 2017 term. Annual tuition for resident undergraduate students will increase by $270 and will generate $77.5 million in net revenue for student success initiatives including Graduation Initiative 2025. The tuition increases are the system's first since 2011.
