Stanislaus State English Professor Brett Ashmun, whose outside-the-classroom approach to teaching is inspiring a new generation of students, is being honored as a Literary Hero by the Great Valley Bookfest. Ashmun’s teaching techniques were highlighted in a Stanislaus State feature.

 

Stanislaus State’s College of Science has been awarded two grants, totaling $7.2 million over five years, to support student success in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) fields.

 

All 23 campuses in the CSU system are now accepting applications for the fall 2017 term.

The CSU system encourages high school seniors and community college transfer students to apply as early as possible. Most CSU campuses will not accept applications after the deadline has passed.

 

The Stanislaus Audubon Society, which raised $4,500 to purchase a copy of the rare “Birds of the Pacific Slope,” has donated the two-volume set to Stanislaus State’s Vasche Library, where it will be housed in the special collections area.
