The LAS minor is 18 units – 6 units of language study (or equivalent) and 12 units of upper-division course work of your choice across several departments in the Humanities and Social Sciences. Faculty who teach courses that are a part of the LAS minor have experiences and specializations that are as varied as Latin America itself.  Depending on a student's interests, he or she may choose from courses not only in the Department of Modern Languages but also in Anthropology, Ethnic Studies, Geography, History, Political Science and Philosophy.

The LAS minor encourages students to gain experience outside the classroom and through Study Abroad opportunities such as CSU International Programs (CSU IP) or the University Study Abroad Consortium (USAC) that may be more affordable than you might think.
