Stanislaus State is committed to using the most accessible technology products and services on our campus. Accessible procurement applies to Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) that are purchased, used, or developed by the University. Generally, if a product requires user interaction and involves creating, converting, transferring, or duplicating data or information, it is likely subject to accessibility review requirements.
Procurement Procedures
All technology (ICT) acquisitions purchased via any method (p-card, requisition, etc.) must undergo ATI and IT security reviews before procurement. These reviews will occur in parallel and be initiated by the Technology Acquisition Review (TAR) process. To have your acquisition reviewed, please complete a Technology Acquisition Review Request (TAR) form so both the ATI and IT Security teams may review your product. Refer to the Technology Acquisition Review (PDF) and the ATI Review process for further guidance.
These processes help ensure the University complies with Section 508 of the 1973 Rehabilitation Act, federal and state law and CSU policy, which require that ICT products and services be accessible to all CSU students, faculty, staff and the public regardless of disability. Stanislaus State is responsible for selecting the most accessible product or service available that meets business and functional needs. Accessible products are generally more cost-effective and provide better performance than inaccessible alternatives.
Please obtain accessibility documentation from the vendor. If an accessible product is not commercially available or an exception applies, document how an equally effective alternative method of instruction will be implemented, in coordination with Services to Students with Disabilities, should a student with a disability enroll.
