CaliforniaColleges.edu and You

Presenters:

Heather Allen, Chief Programs Officer, California College Guidance Initiative

Mary Aguayo, Higher Education Administrator in Residence, California College Guidance Initiative

CaliforniaColleges.edu, the state of California’s official college and career planning platform, provides a one-stop shop for college and career planning, launching public college applications, and originating financial aid forms. More than half of the state’s high school students are in partner districts, which provide a-g course and grade data to the platform. This data enables the CSU eligibility tool and seamlessly integrates with Cal State Apply, reducing the application time to just 30 minutes. This session will provide an overview of these critical tools as well as the kinds of reporting available to educators. For example, did you know that if students launch their applications from CaliforniaColleges.edu, high school counselors can easily run reports of which CSU-eligible students have not yet applied to facilitate your outreach work? You’ll also learn which high school districts are current partners, what work is underway with partner high schools to drive CSU application completion and facilitate admission clearance for eligible students, and learn best practices for driving engagement with potential future students through CaliforniaColleges.edu.
