Who Can Join the Promise Scholars Program?
Both current and former foster youth are eligible for Promise Scholars. Also accepted under the Foster Youth definition is:
- Guardianship Care/Kinship Care
- Ward of the Court
- Emancipated minor
- Unaccompanied homeless youth
- Independent by appeal (must be updated yearly)
- Special cases will be reviewed by the Director of EOP and Promise Scholars
Scholars Applicants should meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Must be a California resident
- Qualify for admission to Stan State
- Complete the Promise Scholars Registration (see below)
- Complete the FASFA
- Provide Foster Youth or Unaccompanied Homeless Youth documentation
- Meet with Promise Scholar Program leadership

The Promise Scholars Program does not have a formal registration deadline. Eligible students will be admitted into our program on a continual basis
