Dr. Carranza earned his EdD in Educational Leadership from California State University, Stanislaus in 2019. His dissertation and postdoctoral work focused on the educational attainment of Hispanic men. He has led numerous workshops for the Cross-Cultural Center and recently presented research at the Association for the Study of Higher Education and CV Riser conferences. He is also a co-author of a book chapter on reflexivity in qualitative research. Although a recent graduate, he has been an active and engaged faculty member in the Communication Studies department since 2003. He has six years of administrative experience as the Introductory Course Coordinator, faculty advisor for the Stan State student newspaper The Signal, and Interim Program Director for the Center for Excellence in Graduate Education.
