Dr. Goshu Wolde Tefera is an assistant professor of Ethnic Studies at California State University, Stanislaus. He completed his Ph.D. in Human Geography at Monash University, Australia, M.A. in Pan African Studies at Syracuse University, United States, and M.A. in Gender and Development Studies at Bahir Dar university, Ethiopia. His teaching and research focus on understanding the experiences of Africans in the diaspora through a pan-African decolonial lens and engage with issues of contemporary international migration, forced displacement and diaspora engagement. Dr. Tefera has published research works in a variety of journals including in Urban Geography, Population, Space and Place, Geoforum, Journal of Sociology and Journal of International and Global Studies. He previously worked for international development and community projects in policy and research settings across three continents.
