Shelley Gardner is fascinated by the unique and often strange ways that flora and fauna manage to ensure their reproduction in a hostile environment. She is “intrigued by the whole notion of beauty and the repulsive edge to it. I like to create work that is beautiful but unexplainably disturbing.” Gardner employs nature as an enduring source of inspiration, often garnering ideas from her long walks in nature.

The Black Graduation Celebration is an intimate ceremony representative of Black and African American culture, which commemorates the achievements of students graduating from Stanislaus State. Refreshments provided.

Stan State Art Space is thrilled to invite you to the BFA Graduating Seniors Exhibition Reception on Thursday, May 11 at 6:00 pm, with an Artist Talk at 6:30 pm. The reception will be held at the Stan State Art Space located at 226 N. First Street in downtown Turlock.
The reception celebrates the work of our graduating BFA candidates for this year, 2023. A variety of media will be displayed including drawing, printmaking, painting, sculpture, and installation work.
Stan State Art Space is thrilled to invite you to the reception for graduating Art Major and Bachelor of Fine Arts candidate Alyssa Higuera, to celebrate her BFA Solo Exhibition, entitled WWW. The reception will be held Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 6:00 pm, with an artist talk at 6:30 pm, at the BFA Gallery at Stan State Art Space, located at 226 N. First Street in downtown Turlock. This reception is free of charge, welcomes all public, is wheelchair accessible, and offers free on-street parking. We hope to see you there!
