The current political climate and social unrest experienced across the country provides numerous real-time issues and complexities of urgency ripe for addressing at this year’s 3rd Annual Social Justice Conference, a signature event for our College of the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.

High school students from throughout the greater Turlock area have the opportunity to submit artworks for entry in this annual, juried art exhibition hosted by the Stanislaus State Art Gallery. The exhibition includes an evening reception, highlighted by an awards ceremony honoring exceptional student artists.

The South Gallery will feature photographer and sculptor Stuart Allen, whose work deals with the fundamental elements of perception such as light, gravity and space. Drawing from landscape and the human figure as his sources for inspiration, Stuart uses his art to translate the enormity of these ethereal cosmic forces into a more intelligible realm of human experience.
