History professor Richard Weikart is one of Stanislaus State’s most prolific authors, and his discussions on the impact of evolution as well as his work researching the history of modern Germany have given him a high profile.

But during a recent reception honoring many of the published authors in the Stan State community, it was Weikart who came away impressed with what he saw.

Stanislaus State continues to be recognized nationally not only for the quality of the education it offers, but also for its overall value. The latest such recognition comes from Forbes, which last week included Stan State in its list of America’s Best Value Colleges.

Maggie White, 21, a graduate student at Stanislaus State, serves as the only voting student trustee on the California State University’s Board of Trustees. One of two student trustees in the nearly 500,000 student CSU system, White, who was appointed by Gov. Jerry Brown in 2015, takes her position as the “student’s voice” seriously.

"I want to be a trustee for all students," she said.
