After a yearlong absence, Stanislaus State is bringing Art Space back to Downtown Turlock.

The original Art Space was open for three years along Main Street until reaching the end of its lease in 2017. Starting in October, visitors once again will be able to walk through art exhibits before or after shopping or grabbing a bite to eat in Downtown Turlock.

Stanislaus State’s Housing and Residential Life no longer will host its annual Halloween Gala. While our campus has enjoyed providing this community event, it has grown to the extent that it no longer is feasible for Stan State’s Housing and Residential Life to provide the resources necessary for the event to remain successful.

The City of Turlock and Stanislaus State have entered into a unique partnership to address issues of inclusion and diversity within Turlock, with the goal of making the city and the campus feel safe for all residents by fostering belonging and acceptance.

Stanislaus State has been ranked as one of the West’s top universities by U.S. News & World Report for 23 consecutive years, and this year’s rankings break new ground for Stan State.

According to the annual rankings released this morning, Stan State is a top 10 public university in the Western region, moving up from No. 13 in last year’s rankings, in addition to being ranked No. 48 overall, up seven spots in one year and an improvement of 13 spots over the last two years.

The value of a Stan State education continues to make waves throughout the region, the state and the country as Washington Monthly has ranked the University the No. 1 “Bang for the Buck” four-year college in the West Region.

Rafael Espinosa has been named the chief information officer and associate vice president for the Office of Information Technology at Stanislaus State.

“I am excited and honored to have been chosen CIO and AVP of technology," Espinosa said. “I look forward to being a part of Stan State and the Turlock community. The Stan State mission of creating an inclusive learning environment is particularly appealing and I hope my background, skills and enthusiasm significantly contribute to that mission.”
