Time, Place, and Manner and Freedom of Expression on Campus
At Stanislaus State, we are committed to fostering a safe, inclusive environment that supports civil discourse and open dialogue among all community members. We respect and uphold the right to protest and freedom of speech. At the same time, policies must be adhered to ensure the safety and proper functioning of our campus. To view policies related to freedom of expression on campus, please visit the laws and policies webpage.
Stanislaus State's Time, Place and Manner (TPM) Addendum outlines the University's support to engage in critical conversations, self-expression and advocacy on campus. The University's Time, Place, and Manner Addendum adheres to the CSU Systemwide Interim Time, Place and Manner policy. While individuals are permitted to express their views, the University does not tolerate speech that incites violence or discrimination — encompassing all forms of racial and national origin discrimination — harassment or behavior disruptive to the educational mission.
