2026 – 2027 Key Dates

FAFSA typically opens on October 1 each year. Stan State students should apply as early as possible and by the March 2 Priority Deadline to maximize financial aid opportunities.

Apply for FAFSA or California Dream Act Application

  • Apply: October 1, 2025 – June 30, 2027
  • Priority Deadline: March 2, 2026

Middle Class Scholarship

  • Apply: October 1, 2025 – March 2, 2026

Cal Grant GPA Verification

  • Deadline: March 3, 2026

Stan State Scholarships

One application can qualify you for multiple scholarships.

  • Deadline: March 2, 2026

After You Apply

Once you submit your FAFSA or California Dream Act Application:

  • Check your Student Center To-Do List regularly
  • Submit documents as soon as possible
  • Watch your Stan State email for updates

Tip: Submit all documents by June 1 to help ensure your aid is ready before fees are due.

Final deadline to apply:

June 30, 2027. Late applicants may have limited funding available.

When You’ll Get Your Aid

  • March–April: Awarding begins for first-time freshmen and transfer students
  • Mid-May: Awarding begins for continuing and graduate students
  • June: Stan State Scholarship awarding begins
  • Mid- to Late June: Students may begin accepting or declining awards
  • Summer: Summer aid awarding begins in early to mid-April and continues throughout the term

Before the term starts:

  • Check your Student Center for any holds
  • Disbursements begin about 10 days before classes start (if eligible)
  • Sign up for direct deposit to get refunds faster
