Stanislaus State students are given the opportunity, for academic credit, to study and directly participate in Model United Nations student conference that draw attendees from universities around the country. This course, PSCI 4650/International Relations: Model UN, offers students both an intensive scholarly examination and practical/hands-on experience of the workings of the UN. The prior and preparatory study in the classroom before the conference and then actual participation in the conference work to educate participants about the structure and operations of the United Nations, important themes in international relations and geo-politics, the extant systems of international diplomacy, and the respective missions themselves of the UN.  This course can be taken twice for credit and is offered only in spring. Students from all majors and programs are welcome.
