Dr. Nancy Brown joins Stan State as an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice. Her academic training includes an undergraduate degree in Sociology/Criminology and master’s degree in criminal justice administration, both from San Jose State University. She earned her PhD in Criminal Justice from Capella University. Her area of expertise is in Restorative Justice, Juvenile Justice Reform, Juvenile Diversion and recidivism, and Disproportionate Minority Contact. Nancy recently stepped away from Chair of Solano County Juvenile Commission whose mission is to inquire into the administration of juvenile justice court law in Solano County. Nancy teaches in the Juvenile Justice concentration in the Criminal Justice Dept. Her research interests include Restorative Justice Juvenile Diversion and juvenile justice reform, and Disproportionate Minority Contact. She is a restorative justice circle practitioner and works with impacted communities to address harm and trauma.
