Stan State has received a $745,997 National Science Foundation (NSF) award to fund programs and projects to provide educational opportunities for math and science majors pursuing a K-12 teaching credential.
In all, six California State University campuses received a combined $7.1 million in funding from the NSF's Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program, which were announced July 30.
Human Resource students Brittany Guzman and Karina Ayala were awarded Lyn Boone Memorial Scholarships of $4,000 each in April at the annual HR Symposium held in Santa Clara. First awarded in 1994, the merit-based scholarships recognize outstanding HR students who show a passion for the profession and excel in 10 characteristics of professionalism including intellectual ability, written and oral expression, emotional maturity and community contributions.
