With the Turlock Irrigation District reporting 1.82 inches of rain dropping on Turlock during the storms Monday and Tuesday, the Stanislaus State system of ponds and pools was able to retrieve a significant amount of water from storm drains in and around campus.

On Monday the reclamation system received and pumped nearly 2.2 million gallons of water. Then, with the ground already saturated, Tuesday’s rainfall, while lighter than the previous day, sent 3.5 million gallons through the system for a two-day total of 5.7 million gallons.

The Warrior Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2016 will be inducted on Saturday, Feb. 6, as part of Homecoming Week at Stanislaus State.

The team will be honored at a luncheon that afternoon and introduced to the crowd at halftime of the men’s basketball game that night against Cal State East Bay.

This year’s class honors multiple generations of Warriors, all of whom gave historic performances during their time at Stan State.

Stanislaus State, through the work of its Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, has been named a finalist for the 2016 NCAA Division II Award of Excellence, an honor that recognizes the positive impact student-athletes can have on their communities.

Stanislaus State student-athletes continue to excel in both the classroom and their respective sports. In addition to the University placing all fall semester team sports in postseason play for the first time as a member of the California Collegiate Athletic Association, 29 Warriors were named to all-academic teams.

The 10th annual Warriors Together Toy Drive capped another successful season with the collection of 700 items to be distributed during the holiday season to kids in Turlock.

This was the third year the University’s Program for Academic & Career Excellence (PACE), through a Service Learning program, has overseen the campus toy collection, which feeds into the Turlock Together project.

May your holidays be filled with warmth and happiness to last through the coming new year.
