The South Gallery will feature photographer and sculptor Stuart Allen, whose work deals with the fundamental elements of perception such as light, gravity and space. Drawing from landscape and the human figure as his sources for inspiration, Stuart uses his art to translate the enormity of these ethereal cosmic forces into a more intelligible realm of human experience. Stuart has shown photographs and sculpture in galleries and museums throughout the U.S. and abroad. His work is found in many private and public collections including the Tokyo Kite Museum, the Crocker Art Museum, and the DiRosa Art Preserve. He has completed permanent public art commissions for the United States Embassy in Ottawa, Canada and the Police Headquarters building in Davis, CA.
