The gallery is pleased to present the artwork of Joan Moment, a Professor of Art at California State University, Sacramento for over thirty years. Joan’s paintings express her unique style of imprinted imagery on the canvas. The imprint captures the shape of the object, fixating it in time. She then manipulates layers of imprints through blurring, scraping and blotting to record the transformative affect of time in nature. Her paintings take on a cosmic quality complete with metaphorical nuances.
