November 19 "Legacy of Hope" Fundraiser - United Samaritans Foundation
USF helps distribute over 35,000 meals per year to low income individuals in our region. This fundraiser makes this important need possible.
Volunteers from Faculty, Students and Staff are needed in the morning from 7:00am to 12:00pm and from 4:30pm to 11:00pm.

November 26 to December 24 Salvation Army Bell Ringers
Volunteers are needed daily (excluding Sundays) for 2-hour shifts to ring the bells to collect vital donations for the Salvation Army during the holiday season. Please contact: Linda Martin at 667-6091, X211 to schedule your date and time.
3rd Tuesday each Month Turlock Community Collaborative Meeting
Join this collaborative network of public service agencies, businesses, and individuals interested in improving the quality of life in Turlock for a monthly meeting to address vital needs in our community. The collaborative meets from 1:30pm to 3:30pm in the Yosemite Room at the Turlock City Hall.
Weekly on Wednesday Homeless Action Committee
This collaborative network of agencies is sponsored by the We Care Program to address issues that will assist the homeless community in Turlock. The weekly meetings take place at 221 South Broadway across the street from the United Samaritans Foundation.
October - December Turlock Together
Turlock Together is a collaboration of businesses, community service agencies and individuals who provide toys to underserved Turlock families during the holiday season. CSU Stanislaus will help gather toys in blue barrels across campus.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Workshops
Accounting students attend two workshops conducted by Stanislaus State alumni to prepare for VITA tax clinics during the spring semester.

February - March

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Tax Clinics
Under the direction of Stanislaus State alumni, faculty and the Office of Service Learning, Accounting students prepare tax returns for low income individuals and families at the Turlock Salvation Army.

February 11

Science Day                                                                                              The College of Science in coordination with the Office of Service Learning hosts the annual Science Day to highlight STEM disciplines through fun activities and demonstrations in the Naraghi Hall of Science, Science One, the Bio-garden, and California Pathways. The day-long event is open to the public.

February - May

Science Saturdays                                                                                     The College of Science in coordination with the Office of Service Learning hosts monthly science activities specific to one area (such as math, physics, chemistry, or biology) for K-12 students who are invited to come to the Naraghi Hall of Science and work on a fun science experiment with Stanislaus State faculty and students.

22nd Annual Cesar E. Chavez Memorial Celebration
This year's guest speaker is renowned artist and emeritus professor, Dr. Malaquias Montoya who was one of the founders of the social serigraphy movement in San Francisco Bay Area in the mid-1960s. The Office of Service Learning coordinates the Poster Contest for K-12 and University students.

Head Start Fitness Clinic
Turlock Head Start families attend this annual fitness clinic facilitated by the Men's Basketball Coach, Larry Reynolds, and member from his team that includes student athletes from basketball and soccer. Families participate in 8 activity stations throughout the clinic.
