My current scholarly work focuses on two very different topics. I am working on a study of the concepts of normal, abnormal, and normalization in phenomenology and post-structuralism. This is leading to developing a book on consciousness, embodiment, pain, disability, and psychosis. In addition, I read and write a great deal related to critical university studies, with an emphasis on relations of production, precarious faculty labor, and professional ethics.

For fun, I enjoy playing guitar and cooking, and I’m an avid fan of ice hockey and satire. I am an avid cyclist and succeeded in the absurd accomplishment of riding every street within Turlock city limits.
