Dr. Sara Cadalig is joining us as an Assistant Professor in the MSW Program. While she is capable of teaching across the MSW curriculum, she is hired with a specialized focus to teach and support our foundation and advanced micro practice classes. With a strong clinical practice background, Dr. Cadalig’s skill set is critically important to the profession and our region.

Dr. Cadalig comes to us with a Doctorate in Social Work from the University of Southern California. She possesses a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Asian American Studies from UCLA. And, while these are two fine institutions, she is most proud to let others know that she is a graduate of the MSW Program at Stanislaus State, graduating class of 2011.

She is a licensed clinical social worker with a strong background in psychiatric social work. In addition to private practice, Dr. Cadalig has been a psychiatric licensed clinical social worker with Kaiser Permanente Behavioral Health Department since 2018. Since 2016, she has been the Chief Executive Officer, facilitator, and trainer for Wellness Options. In this capacity, she has created and facilitated both Tools for Well-being and the CR2CLE Executive Leadership Program—both these mindfulness and wellness-based curriculum are interventions designed to foster the wellness of employees, managers, clients, and organizations as a whole. With her research agenda and clinical practice expertise focused on the individual, collective, and organizational wellness, there is no doubt that Dr. Cadalig will be a valued asset to the MSW Program, the broader University, and the communities we serve.
