Dr. Matt Moberly earned his Ph.D. from New Mexico State University in Rhetoric and Professional Writing. He received his M.A. in Rhetoric and Teaching Writing and B.A. in English from right here at California State University, Stanislaus.& His primary interests include professional writing, writing center theory/administration, and composition/rhetoric curriculum.
Dr. Moberly’s current research focuses on professional writing program development and incorporating information literacy into first-year writing curricula. He has recently worked on collaborations with librarians and writing instructors at New Mexico State University and University of California, Merced to design and implement information literacy-focused first-year composition curriculum that aims to better prepare students for academic and real-world research through metacognition, reflection, and a re-imagined relationship between librarians and the classroom. He has also spent the last few years training local high school teachers on adopting Expository Reading and Writing Curriculum (ERWC) in collaboration with the Stanislaus County Office of Education.
