I highly value the scientist-practitioner model. Thus, my research focuses on bridging the gap between clinical work and research. My specific areas of current interest include 1) classroom-management procedures, 2) skill acquisition procedures, and 3) behavior-analytic interventions to promote health and wellness behaviors. My research on classroom-management procedures focuses on the use of group contingencies to promote prosocial behaviors and minimize disruptions that impede learning opportunities. My research on skill acquisition procedures covers an array of areas including operant response variability, generative learning strategies, culturally responsive teaching, and incorporating learner preference into teaching methods. Finally, my research on behavior-analytic interventions to promote health and wellness behaviors primarily includes increasing physical activity levels for children and adults. I am also interested in expanding my work to evaluate the effects of mindfulness interventions, improve individuals healthy eating habits, and help individuals get better sleep. Across all areas of my research I program for and measure social validity.
