Dr. Arturo Nevárez (he/him él) has a PhD in Education, Society & Culture from the University of California Riverside and an MA in English from the University of Texas at Austin. His research and teaching focus on (1) the racial literacies of Chicanx/Latinx students and students of Color, (2) K-12 Ethnic Studies & pedagogies and, (3) the race-conscious pedagogies and racialized experiences of teachers and teacher educators of Color. His areas of specialization include race & racism in K-12 schools, critical race theory, LatCrit theory, critical pedagogy, K-12 Ethnic Studies, teachers and teacher educators of Color and youth literacies of resistance.
