Stanislaus State Chief of Police Andy Roy, who has served the University for 29 years, has announced his retirement, effective Jan. 1, 2018. The University extends its heartfelt gratitude to Chief Roy for his fair and consistent leadership, and also commends him for the example he set for his department.

“We can’t thank Andy enough for his service and dedication to the University,” said Darrell Haydon, Vice President for Business and Finance and CFO. “Under Andy’s direction, Stan State’s University Police Department has made this campus one of the safest in the CSU system.”

Lieutenant Clint Strode will be the Interim Chief of Police. “We’re very confident that Clint will maintain the level of safety felt by all students, faculty and staff here at Stan State,” Haydon said.

Strode has been with the University for more than 24 years. He began as a student assistant with the UPD while working on his degree, eventually becoming a police officer at Stan State. He continued his education, also earning his master’s degree in criminal justice at Stan State.
