Stanislaus State President Britt Rios-Ellis spent her third day on the job and her first Warrior Wednesday with the University visiting the Stockton Campus, where she met with leadership, took a tour of the facility and enjoyed lunch with about two dozen staff members as she continues to immerse herself in the Warrior community and chart a visionary plan for the University’s future.
The tour, led by Stockton Campus Dean Sarah Sweitzer and Stockton Dean of Students Amy McKinney, provided Rios-Ellis with a bird’s eye view of the campus, its programs, student population and resources. Rios-Ellis saw classrooms and lab spaces, visited the Stockton Campus Library, Warrior Food Pantry, Warrior Activities Center and the site of the new academic building currently under construction. She also met Kathy Hart, San Joaquin Delta College’s retired superintendent/president who now serves as the site authority chair for the Stockton Campus at University Park.
“This is such a building opportunity,” Rios-Ellis said, referencing the great potential for strengthening partnerships and establishing programs with community partners in Stockton and San Joaquin County.
