High school seniors planning to attend college can find information on how to pay for it at a February 8 regional workshop on the California State University, Stanislaus campus in Turlock.

CSU Stanislaus will host the "Cash for College" workshop on Thursday, February 8, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Porges Lecture Hall (Room 166) of the Demergasso-Bava Hall complex. The University is located at 801 West Monte Vista Avenue in Turlock. Parking for Demergasso-Bava Hall is off Crowell Road at the Ansel Adams Boulevard entrance.

The February 8 program will provide professional assistance to families completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and Cal Grant GPA Verification forms. The Cal Grant program provides eligible students up to $9,700 a year for college. Incoming 2007-08 college freshmen who attend the CSU Stanislaus program will be entered in a drawing for a $1,000 scholarship.

The deadline for applying for Cal Grant financial aid funds is March 2 so students and their parents are encouraged to attend the February 8 informational workshop to assure that forms are completed correctly and submitted well in advance. No advance registration is required.
