Details: American River College professor Dr. Anthony Barcellos will be the guest at a reception at East Lake Ranch, the Turlock home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bettencourt. The event is presented by the Center for Portuguese Studies of California State University, Stanislaus. Dr. Barcellos will speak about the Azorean-American experience and his new book, “Land of Milk and Money,” which tells the story of Azorean immigrants who settle on a dairy farm in the San Joaquin Valley. A California native, Dr. Barcellos grew up on his grandfather's dairy farm in Porterville, Tulare County.
